Edit Media Asset
Use Edit media asset to maintain the file metadata, uploaded file versions, public-content key, and public Company Profile placement for one media asset.
The page edits the media asset itself. Links to products, product groups, categories, and company profile placements reuse the same asset instead of creating copies.
Main fields
- Kind controls the broad file family: image, document, or video.
- Type describes the business use, such as product image, manual, certificate, brochure, datasheet, or company gallery image.
- Title and Description are the public labels reused wherever the asset is shown.
- Tags, Communities, and Facets are optional metadata for searching and organizing the library. Company-owned media assets do not require communities, facets, or tags.
Public content asset
Public content asset is for keyed public content, such as Help articles, landing pages, and authored content that references a media file by a stable key.
When this checkbox is enabled, Public asset key is required. The key must be unique in the company-visible media scope and can contain letters, numbers, dots, hyphens, and underscores.
This setting does not publish the asset to the public Company Profile Assets tab. It only makes the asset addressable by key for content that intentionally asks for that key.
Show the asset on the public Company Assets tab
Use Company profile Assets tab when the asset should appear on /companies/company/{companyUniqueName}/assets.
- Open the asset in the company workspace.
- Turn on Show on company profile.
- Choose Profile asset type:
- Profile asset for general company files;
- Certificate for certificates and compliance documents;
- Brochure for brochures and marketing PDFs;
- Capability document for capability statements, presentations, and technical introductions;
- Gallery image for images that should appear in the profile assets gallery filter.
- Save the media asset.
The same file can still be linked to products or product groups. Publishing it on the Company Assets tab adds a company-profile placement; it does not remove product usage.
Why the asset is not visible on the Company Assets tab
Check these points:
- the asset belongs to the same company workspace;
- Show on company profile is enabled;
- the selected profile asset type is not a hero-background-only type;
- the asset has at least one usable uploaded file or preview;
- the Company Assets tab Search, Kind, or Type filters are not hiding the asset.
Product images, manuals, and documents do not appear on the public Company Assets tab just because they are owned by the company or attached to products. Publish only the files that should represent the company profile.
